Pregnancy Update - 28 Weeks (technically)

Pregnancy Highlights: Technically I am 28 weeks and 2 days today. I waited to write the update until today because we had a Dr's appointment today! So... here's all the info!

How far along: Per the due date, I am 28 weeks and 2 days. Although, today the ultrasound had my estimated due date at 30 weeks and 2 days. That's right, he's measuring 2 full weeks bigger! I think we have a big baby on our hands!!!

Size of Baby: He is 3lbs and 3oz.... again, should be measuring about 2lbs 3-5oz right now!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I gained 4 pounds this month which is 7 pounds total! Steve told me in the car on the way home that the 4 pounds were from my cupcake/muffin obsession this month! Needless to say... I'm over that! Hahahaha

Maternity Clothes: LOVING my maternity clothes. I found a bunch of super comfy and cute maternity jeans at the resale shop by my house. I can't stand spending $30 on a single pair of jeans that I'm only going to wear for another 3 months, so I spent $15 for 4 pairs!!! And they are SO cute and comfy. I also bought a dress and a couple tops - also quite cheap if I might brag! :)

Gender: A beautiful baby boy - Logen Warren Hustedt

Movement: VERY active. He's kicking very low, which is apparently because he's still in the breech position - completely normal for this time frame. But it makes for some emergency bathroom breaks throughout the day. I swear he loves my bladder!

Food Cravings: Well, now that I'm past my cupcake/muffin phase, I'm not really craving anything. I still eat apples and bananas daily, but nothing in particular.

What I Miss: I miss the sight of my feet. If I'm standing up... all I can see is belly! I also miss getting to wear heels. I was able to wear them the whole pregnancy with Page, but my ankles and tummy aren't so excited about them this time around. The good news is, it gave me an excuse to go shoe shopping and buy a couple new pairs of shoes!

Sleep: I'm having a little harder time sleeping lately. I fall right to sleep, but I'm waking up more and it's getting more and more uncomfortable. I believe it was around week 36 or 37 that I started sleeping in the recliner. I hope I can hold out that long again, but I don't know if that will happen or not.

Symptoms: The Braxton Hicks contractions were a little much last week, but I think that was my fault. I've had a couple days with none, so I think I'm taking it a little easier. I'm still a little uncomfortable throughout the day (backaches, groin pains, etc) but nothing too bad! It's all worth it in the end!

Best Moments This Week: Taking Page to the Pumpkin Patch with Steve, our appointment today and getting to see Logen and sharing those special moments with Steve, and hanging out with Danielle and the kids. I'm treasuring all this time we have together now as soon, we'll have a new baby in the mix and it will add an extra element of fun and stress! :)

What I Am Looking Forward To: I am looking forward to so much! Our trip to San Fransisco, CA next week, our trip home next month (including the Baby Sprinkle), finishing getting ready for Logen, and Charity and Canaan visiting over Christmas. I think these next couple months are going to fly by!!! Life is great!!!

Awwwww.... Pumpkin Patch!

Awww.... Pumpkin Patch! We're headed to the Pumpkin Patch (to the tune of Go, Diego, Go's "Rescue Pack").

This song started last year on our visit to the Pumpkin Patch and has continued throughout the year. Only now, Page sings it, too... not just Steve and me. It makes us feel a little less "Nerd Alert" about ourselves.

Before we went, we had to stop and pick up cash. Page took Steve's cash from his hands. She's going to be trouble when she gets older, I think! He was able to swap it out for something a little more her age... a dollar!
We finally got to Pumpkin Patch and Page immediately ran with Daddy to the corn box and the slides! Although, she did spend an insane amount of time on the tractor. I wonder why. She did say that Papa's were better, though. She's such a fan of her Papa and his tractors!

She loved looking at all animals and just running through the "Three Little Pig's Houses" and resting on the straw bales (of course not long enough for a good picture).

After a while Danielle, Derrick, and Ryder met us there (Derrick had to work in the morning). Page had been waiting to show Ryder all the fun stuff to do all morning. Although, by the time they got there, I was pretty exhausted and Page was pretty tired and hungry. We hung out for a while and checked out the baby chicks (Danielle was able to catch a few hilarious pictures). The firsts picture is of me and Page holding the baby chick. The second one is where I'm trying to get Page to look at Danielle for the picture and the chick decided to make a jump for it. Steve and Danielle love my face in the picture... hahahahaha... ok, it's pretty funny. And the chick survived!

After checking out the animals, we decided Page and Ryder might enjoy the train ride. I'm not sure why, but Page always gets the front seat on rides like that. I guess she's just awesome like that. Ryder was going to ride with her, but then decided he wasn't too excited about letting Page do all the driving (she's pretty strong-willed) so he decided to move one car behind her and drive himself. They were so cute and had so much fun! While they were on their fun train ride, Derrick, Danielle, Steve and I were able to sit down and relax and chat. We also snuck some "couple" pictures of us. We did forget to get family pictures, but maybe next time. :)

After the kids returned from their train ride; Danielle, Derrick, and Ryder decided they were going to go through the family corn maze. I didn't think I'd make it, so we decided to head home. (It's a good thing we decided against the corn maze. According to Danielle... it took almost 45 minutes and was NOT really child friendly). We stopped on our way out to pick up a pumpkin! Page told us she wanted "a really HUGE pumpkin". She picked out a moderately big one and a tiny one (a baby one for her brother - how sweet). We then drove home and all collapsed on the couches and ate lunch and then took a nice LONG nap! What a good time we had, though!

Ryder's Visit

Last night Steve and I babysat for Ryder while his Mommy and Daddy, Danielle and Derrick, got to go out on their much deserved date night. They watched Page for us last weekend while we did date night. Page was looking forward to Ryder coming over the entire week. She was so excited all day yesterday and they had a blast!!!

They enjoyed playing outside in the backyard together. Page loves playing out there, but loves it even more when she has someone to play with. Steve even commented on how well they play together. Page sometimes has territorial issues with other kids when playing with her toys (you would think the daycare would help with that - and it has a little bit, but not totally) but her and Ryder never argued over toys at all! They were so cute playing together.

Danielle and Ryder made cupcakes and brought "surprises" over for the kids to play with. The Halloween baskets filled with stamps and PEZ were a HUGE hit! I think they ate so many PEZ that their dinner appetites were spoiled, but hey... you're only a kid once. After dinner, Ryder and Page decided they were going to practice their big brother and big sister skills (Danielle is also pregnant) by having stroller races around the house. It was pretty cute!
Then they needed a bath! We got them both into their suits and put them in the bathtub! They had a blast playing with the toys and "swimming". It was really cute as at one point, they were swimming and Ryder almost kicked Page in the face (accidentally, of course) and I told them to be careful and watch out for each other and Page replied with, "It's OK, Mommy. Ryder can't hurt me. He's family." It was VERY cute!!!
After bath, they played with Page's tunnels. I think the PEZ (in the bowl) might have had an impact on their energy levels!
It was a great night and Page fell right to sleep after Ryder left! I think we have more date night swaps planned for the near future!

Third Trimester Fun

Well, I've been in my third trimester since Monday... that means 5 days. I think these last three months are going to be fun. Hahahaha. This week at the daycare I've had only one kid (all the other kids are on vacation or have Grandma in town watching them). So, we decided to have some fun this week. We've been keeping busy and getting out of the house. We've visited Danielle and Ryder, gone to McDonald's for lunch, and yesterday, we ventured out to the zoo! It's been a VERY fun and exciting week, but I think it's taking a toll on me.

Yesterday after the zoo (keep in mind we were there for maybe an hour and a half), we went to Steve's office to have lunch with him. Then we came home and I put Page and daycare Logan (not to be confused with Logen in my belly) down for nap. They both were out almost immediately at 1:30 and neither of them woke up until Logan's dad got here at 5pm. Wow! I guess I wore them out. I should have taken that as a hint and rested myself, but instead I decided to bake cookies while they napped. Whew... by 5 o'clock when they woke up, I was exhausted. I started experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions. I didn't have these with Page, so I was excited to get to experience a "new" part of pregnancy. I'm weird... I know.

When Page woke up, she and I had to run to the grocery store and I noticed that when I put on a new pair of shoes (I literally just bought them a couple weeks ago and they were a little big when I bought them), they no longer fit my feet. I knew this would happen as it happened with Page, but my feet and ankles were so swollen. So, after leaving the store, I called my mom to chat and she calmly (hahaha) explained to me that I clearly overdid it yesterday and this week. My body was trying to tell me to relax and slow down. So, I decided that my mom gave me permission to not make dinner, so I ordered Applebee's for Steve and me. LOL... again... another big mistake!!! Steve and I always get the quesadillas from the appetizer menu. They are SO yummy! For some reason, mine seemed SO MUCH spicier this time. Anyway, after eating dinner... I had no choice but to just lay on the couch and relax... I now was experiencing Braxton Hicks (still), swollen feet and ankles, and heartburn and acid reflux! What a fun evening! :)

Thankfully my wonderful husband takes such good care of me and grabbed whatever I needed and just let me rest... and he only laughed or made fun of me a couple times. Yes, I deserved this wake up call. I need to realize that I'm not superwoman when I'm 6 months pregnant. But even with all that "fun" stuff last night, I couldn't be happier. I love all the symptoms of pregnancy as it reminds me of the little guy I have growing inside of me. I love being pregnant, even if it does make me slow down sometimes.

Steve and I go back to the doctor next Wednesday for my glucose test, our 3D ultrasound, and my first third trimester check-up! We will then begin going every two weeks and then when we return from IL after Thanksgiving, we'll be going every week. Our October and November seem to busy that I think the next three months are going to fly by! We can't wait to have our little guy in our arms!!!

Logen... keep growing and reminding Mommy to slow down! We can't wait to meet you! We love you so much!!!

Pregnancy Update - 27 weeks

Woohoo!!! Third Trimester!!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 27 weeks - Starting my third trimester
Size of Baby: About 10.2 inches long and about 2.6 pounds
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Total I've gained about 6 pounds - I'll have a more accurate reading on this on Wednesday when I visit my doctor for a physical.
Maternity Clothes: I am completely in maternity clothes and since receiving a bunch of fall/winter clothes from my sister, Becky, last week, I can't wait for this weather to cool down so I can wear it all!
Gender: Boy - Logen Warren Hustedt
Movement: Lots of movement this week and his kicks are definitely getting harder. He always seems to know when I have to go to the bathroom and LOVES kicking my bladder at that time!
Food Cravings: Chocolate Chip Muffins!!! I eat WAY too many of them, so I have to offset them with eating WAY too many apples! :) I figure it's a good balance.
What I Miss: I miss being able to carry Page around. I still do it from time to time, but it's getting harder and harder. I miss being able to get off the couch without assistance and I miss my ankles not swelling if I am on my feet for any prolonged amount of time.
Sleep: Last week I would have said I was full of energy and sleep wasn't that big of an issue. The last couple of days, I can't get enough of it. I'm so tired and sleepy. I feel like I could sleep all day if I could... almost like the first trimester all over again. Whew... I hope this passes soon. Symptoms: swelling ankles, shortness of breath, MAJOR itching, and still some round ligament pain in my lower abdomen.
Best Moments This Week: Date Night! Steve and I finally got to go on a date and it was wonderful.
What I Am Looking Forward To: Our VERY busy October! We have every weekend full and MANY weekdays are also full of fun and exciting events that we have planned! I hope Page is a trooper, like she normally is, and enjoys everything as much as we hope she does!

Excellent Weekend

What a fantastic weekend!!! Be ready for lots of pictures!!!

On Saturday, Steve and I FINALLY had a date night. We were trying to figure out how long it's been since he and I have been out alone together, and we decided it was either at Christmas when my parents watched Page while we were home or since then when a friend of ours, Marisa, watched Page. (We couldn't remember is Marisa watched her before or after Christmas). Anyway, my wonderful friend, Danielle, and her husband Derrick, and Steve and I finally decided we should start switching off date nights since they don't know many people or have any family here, either. This was the first time we actually did the date night switch, so it was exciting.

We offered the first weekend to them since they just celebrated their anniversary on Wednesday, but Derrick wanted to wait until next weekend since there was a movie coming out he wanted to see. So, Steve and I jumped at the opportunity to go out first. We dropped off Page at Danielle and Derrick's (and Ryder's) and while she cried at first, Danielle texted maybe 2-3 minutes later that she was fine and Page and Ryder were playing happily. Now it was time to focus on us. So, Steve and I decided to go to an early movie and then hit dinner afterwards. So, we headed to Westgate (the area right by the AZ Cardinals Stadium) and went to watch Resident Evil: The Afterlife 3D. It was AWESOME! I definitely suggest you watch it in 3D. It made it SO much better. At one point in the movie, Steve and I both looked at each other as we wiped the blood from our 3D glasses (obviously there was nothing really there, but we both thought it was funny that we both wiped the glasses at the exact same time).

After the movie, we walked around Westgate to find a restaurant. It was a Saturday night at 7:30, so we were really looking for somewhere that we weren't going to have to wait an hour to get a table. We ended up at Margaritaville. We had never been there before and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was awesome and seems like a very child friendly place, too, so we may go back and bring Page. They have people on stilts walking around making balloon animals for kids. It was pretty cool.

But dinner ended and we went to pick up Page. She had such a great time. Thankfully Danielle took TONS of pictures and shared them with me via her blog www.thelutzs.blogspot.com (and I stole them for my blog). Next weekend, Ryder is coming to our house to play while Danielle and Derrick go out to dinner and a movie. Page is ALREADY asking to go back to Danielle's and to play with Ryder. Little does she know we have a lot planned this upcoming week/weekend with Danielle and Ryder! Enjoy some pictures of Page and Ryder.

On Sunday, we all woke up and ran our errands and then prepared for our fun day of Halloween decorating. It was VERY hot outside, and yes, Page is wearing two shirts - don't ask me why, so we tried to decorate as quickly as we could. We have a spider theme that all of our decorations fit into. We always love decorating outside for the holidays. Hopefully when we decorate for Fall and Christmas, it won't be triple digit weather! :) So, here are pictures of the decorating process, Page playing in the yard while Daddy decorates, and Steve and Page relaxing with some water examining the final product!
