Mother's Day 2011

First of all, Happy (Late) Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there! I had a great day being spoiled and spending the day with my three favorite people! It was a nice relaxing day, and exactly what was needed!

Our day started by the kids sleeping in until 7am (yes - that alone is a great gift!!!) and Steve getting Page dressed and ready and they headed out to pick up breakfast. In the meantime, I stayed at home and got ready for the day and got my little man ready. He and I got some extra snuggle time in, too!

When Steve and Page arrived back home, they not only surprised me with Sonic (my favorite), they also surprised me with a dozen red roses! They were beautiful!!!

They also gave me my other Mother's Day present. It was a plaque that Steve and Page made together of the meaning and reasoning for Logen's name. (If you didn't already know - LogEN is named after my dad, Len. His middle name, Warren, is named after his "Grandpa" Bruce Warren).

Steve made one for me for my very first Mother's Day with Page, too! I love these and treasure them even more that Steve makes them all on his own! He's so talented!

After the gifts and we finished eating breakfast, we decided to take some pictures to remember the day! We took so many of these and all of them were adorable, but I will just put up my favorite ones!

After pictures, we had to run out and do some errands since Steve had to work on

Saturday. We did our grocery shopping and went to Target and the Post Office.

We had fun just being together and spending time together. After our errands were

finished, we went back home to unload groceries, feed Logen, and then get ready for lunch.

For lunch, we decided to head to Applebee's. We very rarely go out to a restaurant with the kids because Page tends to not be able to handle sitting for that long without running all around or losing it. However, again, Page gave me another wonderful present of being the most well-behaved little girl at lunch! I definitely see more family dinners out since she's shown us how great she can be!

After lunch, we were all exhausted and went back home to take naps! After naps, we ended the day by going swimming (sorry no pictures) and grilling out! We had a great time just enjoying each other and spending time together. After dinner, the kids took baths and it was bedtime. Once they were asleep, Steve and I were able to just relax on the couch and enjoy some TV together. I don't think I could have asked for a better Mother's Day! I hope all future Mother's Day are as wonderful as this year's was!

It's Been 4 Months?

Happy Four Months Logen!!! We love you so much!

Looking to the future. What will 5 months hold?

Logen is 4 months old today! I can't believe it!!!

He had his four month Dr. appointment today and he is continuing to grow like a weed.

Height:27.5 inches long

Weight: 17lbs and 15oz

He is doing great and meeting all of his milestones for his age and more! He is now rolling over both belly to back and back to belly. He is also trying to sit on his own (see below).

As far as Logen's eating patterns, he is still nursing almost exclusively. If we are out of the house, it's usually easier to give him a bottle of formula or sometimes if I just need a break and Steve feeds him, he'll get a formula bottle. He usually gets maybe one or two formula bottles a week. He is, however, drinking 6oz when he does drink a bottle. We asked his doctor about starting foods (we started Page on cereal at 4 months and baby food at 6months). Dr. Ellis said that if he starts acting like he's not getting full from nursing or the bottle, then to start him on cereal, but otherwise to wait until 6 months and start him on both cereal and baby food. Cool! Saves us a little more money! :) And clearly he's not missing too many meals! LOL

Sleeping... well, honestly it depends on the night. He's not super consistent, yet. He usually wakes up around 5:30 or 6 and comes into bed with me to sleep for another hour or half hour until I get up. Then he'll take a little cat nap in the morning sometime around 8:30 or 9 for about half an hour to an hour (depending on how loud the kids are). Then he'll nap when the daycare kids nap, usually from 1ish until about 3 and then another quick hour long (or so) nap in the evening from about 5-6. We eat dinner, give the kids baths, put Page to sleep around 7:30and then it's Logen's turn. He's usually asleep by 8. He usually will sleep until at least 2 or 3, sometimes 4 (8 hours - I'll take it). We are still swaddling him because on the couple times when we've tried it without (last night for example) he is up every 2 hours!!

Logen is doing great and we can't believe he's already 4 months! Where is the time going? He is one of the greatest things to ever happen to us and the other greatest thing loves him SO much!! Page and Logen are best friends. I know it probably won't stay that way, but a mom can wish, right?

The Magic Number

Tuesday was Steve's birthday. He's not a huge fan of birthdays, so he "gave" his birthday to Page and Logen. So, after they all opened their presents (it was stuff I already had for them) and we enjoyed some yummy ice cream cake, we needed to take a picture.

This week, Steve returned to work from his paternity leave. :( None of us were looking forward to this, but his day back wasn't horrible. It could have been better, but it wasn't horrible. We were concerned how Page would react to his returning to work since he hadn't been to work since before Christmas and before Logen was born. She did great, though. When Steve left for work, Page turned to me and said the cutest thing, "Well, Mom... it looks like it's just you and me today." LOL. Where does she get this stuff??? She did tell me she missed Daddy a couple times, but distraction techniques seemed to help.

Thankfully, this is Spring Break week in AZ for all the local schools so my daycare kids were gone. I figured getting Page out of the house might distract her from Steve not being there. So, we met up with Danielle and Ryder at Pump It Up and the let the two big kids play on the inflatable toys for a couple hours. We then enjoyed a nice lunch at Burger King.

We then returned home and took naps. Page took a SUPER long nap (3.5 hours) and was surprised when Steve brought home her favorite pizza for dinner. It ended up being an OK day.

Today has been going pretty well and tomorrow we plan to visit Steve at work for lunch and to introduce Logen to everyone. Let's hope this transition continues to be a smooth one.

Random Acts of Cuteness

Yes, I know I've been M.I.A lately, but we've been busy. We took our "Logen Tour" where the four of us (and Nudget) travelled back to IL to introduce Logen to all of his family. We have TONS of pictures, but way too many to put on here. They are all on FaceBook, though, so you can check them out there. I will add a couple of the highlights in this post (i.e. Logen meeting his grandparents and Godparents and Page's birthday). When we got back, we jumped right back into the daycare and that has been keeping us busy. Steve goes back to work full time on Monday, so we've been trying to get in as much family time as possible. Also, I have been busy planning a baby shower for my awesome best friend, Danielle, that is this Sunday. Hopefully after the shower and next week (Spring Break for my daycare kids' parents) I'll have some more time to stay on top of blogging a little more. So, here's what you've been waiting for... Some random acts of cuteness!

Page on the swings at the park with Daycare Logan, or as we call him, Lolo. (We needed to call him something to distinguish the two Logan/Logens). Sadly, this won't be an issue too much longer as daycare Logan and his family will be moving back to Michigan this summer. :(

Last week we ventured out of the house when Steve had to go to work for a meeting and one of the daycare kids was sick. We went to the park with Danielle and Ryder. Now, they have clearly met Logen MANY times, but I never got a picture of Danielle and Logen (Ironically - I had one of Derrik and Logen... but not Danielle).

After we returned from our trip home, we waited a couple days (Logen had a bit of a cold) but then Logen had another big milestone. He now sleeps in his crib in his own room!! Just last night he slept for 8 hours straight! YAY!!!!

Logen at 2 months - weighed in at 15lbs 10 oz and 25 inches long. Yes, that is a very big baby. He doesn't seem that chunky. The doctor said he is directly proportionate... he is just the average size of a 5 month old! LOL. Our future linebacker!
